Kasisi

The Kasisi orphanage is located on the outskirts of the Zambian capital and is a place of refuge for over two hundred children. Most of them come here as babies abandoned or orphaned by their parents.

Some of them are HIV positive. But all children from an early age play and learn together. Each of them is provided with treatment and education in a public primary school giving them prospects for an independent life. Some of the children, thanks to the funders, have a chance for further education.

The orphanage was founded 80 years ago by Polish nuns. Today their successors look after the children with the help of a group of donors and volunteers from all over the world.
